Sanders Criticizes Fetterman on Recent Statements

Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont expressed disapproval of Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, describing him as being “way out of touch” with Americans. This followed Fetterman’s accusation that Sanders showed no remorse for endorsing Graham Platner, a former Senate nominee from Maine involved in various scandals.

Sanders responded on “Meet the Press,” pointing to Fetterman’s popularity among Pennsylvania Democrats, which stands at around 19%. Sanders argued that this indicates Fetterman’s disconnect with voters on issues such as Israel.

My response to Fetterman is last time I saw it, he was reflecting the views of about 19% of the Democrats in the state of Pennsylvania. I think probably lower than any other member of the Democratic Senate. Fetterman does his thing, and I think, on Israel, and many other issues, is way out of touch with the people of America, Sanders stated.

A Quinnipiac University survey showed Fetterman’s approval rating at 19% among Democrats in Pennsylvania, with 69% disapproving. Interestingly, 77% of Republicans expressed approval, leading to an overall registered voter approval rating of 48%.

Fetterman’s office directed Fox News Digital to comments he made to Semafor, intensifying his criticism of Sanders. Fetterman accused Sanders of backing Platner despite his controversies.

Fetterman stated, You were the carnival barker for an accused rapist. You should have taken my advice, since you and P-Hustle blew up the Maine race. Take responsibility and apologize.

The conflict between Sanders and Fetterman has escalated over Platner and the Democratic Party’s stance on Israel. Fetterman voiced frustration over Sanders’ support for candidates with controversial backgrounds.

I would be frustrated with someone like Bernie Sanders. You know, why aren’t people angry they promoted someone like Platner, an accused rapist, Fetterman commented during an appearance.

Fetterman demanded Sanders apologize to Maine voters and Platner’s donors. Sanders later called for Platner to exit the race after serious allegations surfaced.

When asked if he regretted endorsing Platner, Sanders acknowledged the gravity of the allegations but defended Platner’s campaign.

Well, you know, it’s easy to be a Monday morning quarterback. Platner ran a very strong campaign and, in fact, many of the issues he raised are resonating all over this country, Sanders shared.

Sanders noted the seriousness of the accusation, which later led to Platner’s withdrawal from the race.
