On Instagram, Savannah Guthrie has issued a heartfelt plea for information about her missing 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie. Authorities suspect Nancy was abducted from her Arizona home after being dropped off on January 31.
Despite an ongoing investigation, no leads have been released. Guthrie shared a drawing by her daughter that reads, “I know it may not seem like it but I really need my mommy,” reflecting her own emotions. She wrote, “Found this old drawing from my daughter today. It says so much about how I feel.”
Guthrie expressed the struggle of maintaining normalcy for her young children while feeling the absence of her mother. She stated, “For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and for all of mom’s beloved grandchildren: we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward.”
She pleaded for help, hoping someone could provide information. “We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us,” Guthrie wrote.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department, leading the investigation, announced that its task force continues to collaborate with labs for DNA analysis. Investigators recently visited Florida to discuss potential advancements with lab scientists.
The sheriff’s department said, “Earlier this month investigators traveled to Florida to meet with lab scientists to see what more could be done to advance the case. A number of ideas were discussed, and we continue to work with all of our partners to solve this case.”
When contacted, the sheriff’s department told Newsweek they had no new information.
This story is ongoing, with updates expected.
