Selma Blair Arrested After Alleged Mid-Flight Incident

Actress Selma Blair faces arrest following allegations of attempting to open an aircraft door mid-flight and attacking two flight attendants on a Delta flight, as reported by TMZ.

According to the outlet, Blair is accused of punching one flight attendant and biting another. The plane was en route to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport when the incident took place. The Port Authority confirmed that two flight attendants sustained injuries, with one requiring hospitalization.

A representative for Blair informed Newsweek that she experienced a medical emergency, which allegedly resulted in the behavior. The representative stated, “Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.”

A Delta spokesperson conveyed to Newsweek that the incident occurred on Flight 938 from Los Angeles to New York on October 11. Law enforcement addressed the situation upon the flight’s arrival at JFK. The flight landed ahead of schedule and remained operationally unaffected. “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” the spokesperson asserted.

TMZ further reported accusations against Blair of assaulting a nurse during her evaluation at a hospital. She faces two assault charges related to incidents with a police officer and the nurse.

The FBI, responsible for probing assaults aboard aircraft, informed Newsweek, “Yesterday, we were informed by our partners at Port Authority Police Department of a potential assault aboard a flight that arrived into JFK.” They added, “As per long-standing DOJ policy, we do not comment on ongoing investigations.”

Newsweek has reached out to the TSA and Delta for additional comments via email.
