Severe Weather Leads to Flash Floods and Tornado Warnings in Texas

Emergency teams in towns around San Antonio are racing against time as heavy rains transform roads into rivers. A tornado was sighted in San Antonio while Uvalde and Harris counties are facing dangerous flooding conditions due to persistent rainfall.

As of July 15, 2026, another day of intense weather has prompted flash flood warnings and hazardous river levels. The situation demands urgent evacuations as emergency responders attempt to rescue individuals from rapidly rising waters.

Uvalde County Rescue Efforts

In Uvalde, county commissioner Roy Coachman reported 25 rescues by Wednesday morning, with increasing river levels causing concern. “First responders are working actively in northern Uvalde County,” he stated. The local police noted the dam in the northern region was intact, but the river gauge above the Leona River indicated a wall of water 20 feet high, expected to rise by another 15 feet.

The police have advised residents living along the Leona River to move to higher ground to ensure safety.

Conditions in Boerne

In Boerne, north of San Antonio, the National Weather Service has declared a flood emergency. The town has experienced up to 12 inches of rain, with forecasts predicting more rain. Boerne’s communications director, Chris Shadrock, reported that Main Street is submerged, and high water rescues are ongoing. Boerne has a population of about 12,314 residents.
