The Social Security Administration announced it will issue limited-edition Social Security cards this year as part of America’s 250th birthday celebrations. These cards are specifically for babies born between July 2 and December 31, 2026.
The new cards resemble the typical blue, wallet-sized Social Security cards used over the years. However, they will feature the ‘Freedom 250’ logo. This logo represents a public-private initiative supported by the Trump administration. The initiative aims to coordinate events associated with the nation’s 250th birthday.
The Freedom 250 initiative started last year, facilitating events often in alignment with the Trump administration. It’s distinct from America250, a congressional nonprofit from 2016, also organizing celebrations for the semiquincentennial.
