Chicago police successfully concluded a prolonged standoff in Logan Square involving an individual barricaded inside a home. The incident began on Monday afternoon and extended into the early hours of Tuesday.
The SWAT team was dispatched to the 3400 block of West Wrightwood Avenue shortly before noon on Monday following an emergency call. This location is notable as the residence of former Mayor Lori Lightfoot. However, a spokesperson confirmed her safety and stated she was not involved.
No injuries were reported on the block. Witnesses mentioned that law enforcement persistently urged a man inside the building to drop a firearm from a window.
