Steven Borden made a significant appearance at All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) All Out event on Saturday night. Teaming up with Darby Allin, Borden faced off against Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher. Borden, the son of wrestling icon Sting, has been making strides in the wrestling world, drawing attention for his similarity to his father.
The duo aimed to secure a shot at the AEW Tag Team Championship. However, the match took an unexpected turn. During the event, Knight and Borden set up for a high-risk maneuver, attempting to leap across the ring from opposite turnbuckles. Knight executed his move successfully, but Borden suffered a mishap, landing awkwardly and hitting his head on the mat.
The match was halted by an AEW referee, declaring Knight and Fletcher the winners. Tony Schiavone, an AEW broadcaster, reported during the broadcast that Borden was conscious and responsive. He was promptly taken to the hospital for further examination.
Following the event, AEW owner Tony Khan provided an update on Borden’s condition. “Thankfully, Steven Borden is awake and responsive at the hospital. He underwent a CT scan, and all tests returned positive results,” Khan stated. “We are optimistic that he will return home to his family soon.”
Injuries in wrestling, like other sports, are common, yet never easy to witness. Fans hope Borden recovers quickly and returns to the ring. Meanwhile, Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher have secured a match against the Young Bucks. The Young Bucks, Nick and Matt Jackson, claimed the tag team titles in a three-way ladder match, further intensifying the competition.
