Survivor Challenges NYC Mayor’s Remarks on Netanyahu

A survivor of the Nova music festival, which was attacked by Hamas, has responded to comments made by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Mazal Tazazo criticized Mamdani’s video, where he labeled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “war criminal.” She described Mamdani’s remarks as “dangerous.” Tazazo shared her concerns in a video posted by radio host Jason Rantz.

In his video, Mamdani stated that he believes Netanyahu should be arrested and tried, aligning with the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) view. Mamdani urged action from the U.S. government should Netanyahu visit New York City in September for the United Nations General Assembly.

“I was shocked today when I saw that video. It’s so dangerous,” Tazazo stated. She emphasized that the conflict should not be labeled as genocide, noting, “People died. Yes, this is a war. It’s very sad. But why? Because the terrorists hide behind their people.” Her comments referenced the Israel Defense Forces’ claims that Hamas uses civilian structures for military operations.

Mamdani had been exploring the potential for New York City to arrest Netanyahu during such a visit. However, he acknowledged that the city lacks the legal authority to enforce the ICC’s warrant. Mamdani called upon the federal government to take action.
