Teenage Boys Injured in South Side Chicago Shooting

Two teenage boys suffered injuries in a shooting incident on Chicago’s South Side, as reported by the police. The shooting occurred near the Auburn Park lagoon and involved a gunman firing several shots into an apartment.

The incident took place shortly after 4 p.m. in the 400 block of West Winneconna Parkway. The police stated that the unknown assailant shot from a hallway into the occupied apartment.

An 18-year-old victim was critically injured with gunshot wounds to the neck, clavicle, and back. He was transported to UChicago Medicine for treatment. A 13-year-old boy, struck in both calves, was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital and is reported to be in good condition.

The Chicago police have not disclosed additional details, but the Calumet Area detectives are actively investigating the case.
