Texas enters the week following a commanding victory over Texas State, defeating the Bobcats 59-7. The game attracted more than 100,000 enthusiastic fans to witness the Longhorns’ performance.
Key in this match was the debut of Cam Coleman, a sophomore wideout transfer. Coleman impressed with 70 yards and two touchdowns on only three catches. His performance included a notable 44-yard pass from Arch Manning. Coleman demonstrated exceptional red-zone skills, indicating his solid rapport with Manning.
The upcoming challenge is the Saturday night face-off against Ohio State at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. Coleman remains confident despite the test ahead, stating, “We’re coming. We’re coming,” in reference to facing the Buckeyes’ defense.

Ranked as the top transfer in the 2026 cycle, Coleman previously played two notable seasons at Auburn. In 2024, he achieved 598 yards and eight touchdowns over 37 catches, averaging 16.2 yards per reception. His efforts earned him a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team. The following season, he totaled 708 yards and five touchdowns from 56 catches, with an average of 12.6 yards per catch.
Now, with Manning as his quarterback, Coleman is expected to exceed these figures. During the Texas State game, Manning completed 20 of 27 passes for 305 yards, scoring four touchdowns against one interception. Junior receiver Ryan Wingo also shone with a game-high 121 yards and one touchdown from seven catches.
However, Ohio State presents a formidable challenge. The Buckeyes defeated Ball State 56-3 and enter Week 2 undefeated. Coleman must prove his worth against this skilled Ohio State secondary.
