Tiger Woods Introduces PGA Tour CEO as Significant Changes Announced

Tiger Woods introduced PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp in a major press conference on Tuesday morning. This marks Woods’ first public appearance since his DUI arrest in March in Florida and subsequent rehab abroad.

Woods has played a leadership role on the Tour’s Future Competition Committee, a duty he described as a privilege during his introduction of Rolapp.

“Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee speaks candidly about Woods’ behavior on the course,”

Woods faced charges of DUI, involving property damage, and refusal to submit a lawful test after a rollover crash on March 27 near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida. Authorities noted his lethargic state and hydrocodone found at the scene, though breathalyzer tests were negative.

On March 23, 2026, Woods was seen at Jupiter Links Golf Club during a match against Los Angeles Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

“Vanessa Trump calls Woods her ‘strength’ amid her breast cancer diagnosis,”

Woods pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge. He was allowed to travel abroad on April 1 for inpatient treatment in Zurich, Switzerland.

The PGA Tour has approved new recommendations from the Future Competition Committee, set to change the circuit’s structure in 2028. Two series will be introduced: a Championship Series and a Challenger Series.

The Championship Series will feature 23-24 events, with approximately 120 players, running from February to August. Ten of the anticipated 15 Series events for 2028 have already been confirmed.

Challenger Series tournaments, with larger fields, will run concurrently with Championship Series events. Championship players won’t be eligible for Challenger events. The top 90 finishers out of about 130 players will secure their spot for the next season, while those not retaining membership might be relegated to the Challenger Series.

Around 20 players from the Challenger Series will be promoted to the Championship Series for the following season.

The Fall Series will offer players a last chance to improve or retain their status in four to six events for Championship Series spots. Significant updates to the postseason will include match play and rotation of the Tour Championship across prestigious courses.
