The Tennessee Titans experienced more setbacks than successes in the opening weeks of the NFL season. However, Week 6 offered a much-needed victory as the Titans came from behind to defeat the Indianapolis Colts 26-20, marking their first win of the season.
Despite the triumph, the celebration at the Titans’ Nashville headquarters might not last long. On Tuesday, the team announced the release of defensive tackle Jordan Elliott, citing an “incident” at their facility without providing further details.
On Thursday, Oct. 15, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott. Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter.
Elliott played under head coach Robert Saleh for the past two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers before joining the Titans. This season, he participated in five games, recording 11 tackles. The nature of the incident leading to his release remains unspecified.
Meanwhile, another adjustment in the Titans’ lineup saw defensive back Alontae Taylor sitting out a recent game due to a decision by the coaching staff. Coach Saleh did not disclose the reasoning, but Taylor had been a key player in the previous games, with 19 tackles and a sack over the first five matches. He is under a three-year, $58 million deal with Tennessee.
The Titans are set to host the Cleveland Browns at Nissan Stadium this week, facing the AFC North leaders. Chantz Martin serves as a sports writer for Fox News Digital.
