An extended search concluded with the discovery of Karen Solomon, who was wanted for questioning regarding the death of her husband, Worcester police officer Kurt Solomon. Both were found dead in Worcester, Massachusetts, leaving the community stunned.
The Discovery
Law enforcement revealed Karen Solomon’s death during a press conference on Monday. Kurt Solomon, a 31-year police veteran, was discovered dead at their Wildwood Avenue residence early Tuesday morning. Karen was last seen in the area wearing casual clothing and was considered potentially armed.
The search efforts intensified around Mill Street and Coes Pond, near their home. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter, Homeland Security, and U.S. Marshals aided the investigation. Ultimately, Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital employees discovered Karen’s body in nearby woods.
Official Statements
Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier announced that there was no domestic abuse history within the Solomon family. Authorities view the situation as a probable murder-suicide, with a gun located near Karen’s body. The Solomon family’s statement expressed deep sorrow, recognizing the dedication of all involved agencies.
