Audio from a 911 call concerning the late NASCAR driver Kyle Busch has been released, highlighting a grave scenario for the driver. The call, initially obtained by TMZ, features an unidentified individual describing Busch’s condition to the dispatcher. The caller noted that Busch was coughing up blood and experiencing shortness of breath.
Bigger things happened on Thursday with reports confirming Busch’s death at 41 after a brief hospitalization. According to the reports, Busch collapsed in a race simulator on Wednesday and was subsequently taken to a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.
His family, along with NASCAR and Richard Childress Racing, announced his passing soon after. Busch was known for his outstanding career in NASCAR, highlighted by numerous records and championship wins.
Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup Series champion, will be remembered as a legend in the racing world. Making his debut in the Cup Series in 2004, he accumulated 762 starts and 63 wins. His achievements included championships won in 2015 and 2019, with 234 victories in total across NASCAR’s national series.
Besides his achievements, Busch was a champion in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with a record 102 wins and in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with 69 wins. His most recent victory came at Dover in a Truck Series race, where he dominated by leading 147 laps.
Busch’s unexpected passing marks a sorrowful chapter for NASCAR, especially after Greg Biffle, another racing figure, died in a plane crash last December.
