On Wednesday, President Donald Trump declared his intention to support Republican candidates in 35 races leading up to the November midterm elections. During a White House dinner event with GOP members of Congress, Trump stated, “I’m going to take the final 30 days, and maybe a little bit more than that, because it’s all about 35 races.” He plans to visit each location to boost the chances of Republican victories.
Key Races and Campaign Stops
Among the races mentioned by Trump is the re-election bid of Sen. Dan Sullivan in Alaska. Trump’s trip to Alaska includes campaigning for Sullivan against a competitor of the same name, a retired teacher.
Trump also plans to travel to Texas to support state Attorney General Ken Paxton in his campaign against Democrat James Talarico for a Senate seat. During the White House event, several Republicans facing competitive races were present, such as Reps. Derrick Van Orden from Wisconsin, Tom Barrett from Michigan, and Mike Collins from Georgia.

The dinner occurred following Trump’s assurance to reporters that he would assist his party despite not being directly impacted by the midterms. He emphasized, “I’m not affected by the election. No. 1, I’m not running. My party’s running, and I’m going to help my party.” Two weeks earlier, he encouraged supporters by suggesting they “pretend, please, that I’m on the ballot” when voting.
Financial Backing from MAGA Inc.
Trump’s commitment coincides with the financial strength of his super PAC, MAGA Inc., which holds over $400 million. Many Republican candidates in competitive races hope to benefit from this substantial war chest.
