The circuit’s funding from the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) ended after the 2026 campaign. Although LIV CEO Scott O’Neil announced securing a new investor for what he calls ‘LIV 2.0,’ rumors of a potential bankruptcy and financial instability cast doubt on the circuit’s continuity.
During a practice round at the Amgen Irish Open, Rahm responded to inquiries about his future. In a press conference, he stated, “There’s just a lot of things in place. There’s a lot of things that could happen. Time will tell.” He avoided committing to returning to the PGA Tour, saying, “We’ll see what happens,” and expressed a willingness to fulfill his current contract with LIV 1.0.
Reports suggest Rahm is owed more than nine figures on his LIV contract. There’s uncertainty about whether he will receive full compensation if LIV faces bankruptcy. As the situation unfolds, Rahm and others are in a waiting game, considering options for staying loyal to their current commitments.
