Vincent Pastore, renowned for his role in “The Sopranos,” passed away at 80. His manager, Robert Attermann, confirmed the actor’s death, stating, “Vinny passed away either yesterday or today at home in The Bronx.”
Attermann represented Pastore for over 30 years, long before the actor gained fame through “The Sopranos.” He remarked, “To the world, he will always be remembered as the unforgettable ‘Big Pussy,’ but to those of us who knew him, he was so much more.”
Pastore played Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on the HBO Max show, becoming a key figure in Tony Soprano’s circle before his character’s betrayal.

Apart from “The Sopranos,” Pastore appeared in several films like “Goodfellas,” “A Bronx Tale,” “Carlito’s Way,” “Gotti,” “Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn,” and “Mickey Blue Eyes.” His television credits include “Blue Bloods,” “Law & Order,” “General Hospital,” “Bull,” “Pair of Kings,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and he recently voiced a character on “Yellowjackets.”
Attermann shared, “He loved being an actor. He was passionate about his craft and was always encouraging, respectful, and generous with young actors, taking the time to offer guidance and support whenever he could.”
Pastore also participated in reality shows such as “Dancing with the Stars,” “Celebrity Fit Club,” and “Celebrity Apprentice.”
Attermann described Pastore as “one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever known,” noting that he welcomed fans seeking photographs or autographs. “He genuinely appreciated the people who supported him and always made them feel valued,” he added.
For Attermann, losing Pastore is deeply personal. “Over more than three decades, I had the honor of watching not only his remarkable career but also the incredible person he was. I will miss his friendship, his loyalty, his humor, and his generosity.”
He extended condolences to Pastore’s family, friends, colleagues, and fans. Attermann concluded, “He leaves behind a legacy that extends far beyond his memorable performances. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. May his memory be a blessing.”
Pastore is survived by his daughter Renee.
