Whoopi Goldberg Defends Trump and Mamdani at Knicks Game

On Monday’s episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg voiced her support for President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani attending Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden. She stated that both men deserved to be present due to their long-standing support as Knicks fans.

“I think anybody who’s a Knicks fan should be there,” Goldberg remarked, adding that fandom alone warrants their attendance.

Despite criticism from some fans who opposed Trump and Mamdani’s presence at the game, Goldberg insisted their attendance would not affect the Knicks’ performance.

“Trump and Mayor Mamdani are Knicks fans and have been,” Goldberg reaffirmed, noting their ties to the city and the team.

During the show, Goldberg energetically celebrated the Knicks’ 2-0 series lead in the finals, encouraging continued support for the team.

“Tonight, tonight, tonight! Come on, Knicks! Come on, Knicks! We earned this bad boy,” Goldberg exclaimed.

President Trump also confirmed his attendance, stating that he was invited by Knicks owner James Dolan.

“I’ve been a Knicks fan for a long time and also a Jim Dolan fan,” Trump commented.

The discussion touched upon concerns from fans who feared Trump’s presence might attract negative attention. Goldberg rejected such worries, emphasizing the importance of focusing positive energy on the team.

“All we need to concentrate on is putting our energy and good energy towards them, towards the Knicks,” Goldberg said.

Security measures were increased due to Trump’s attendance, canceling a planned watch party outside Madison Square Garden while implementing enhanced screening for fans.
