The Democratic primary for Wisconsin governor saw a tight race on Tuesday. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley emerged victorious over Francesca Hong, a candidate known for her socialist views.
Crowley secured the nomination by a narrow margin, winning by around 3,800 votes out of 792,000. Despite trailing by over 20 points in polls two weeks prior, he gained ground as many Democrats united behind him, seeking a candidate seen as more electable.
Wisconsin elections are often close, and this primary was no exception. The turnout and voter decisions highlight ongoing debates within the Democratic Party regarding candidate alignment and electability.
