The New York Yankees advanced past the Boston Red Sox with a decisive 9-2 win in Game 2 of the AL Wild Card series. This triumph is noteworthy, especially with Aaron Judge absent from the lineup due to injury. Despite his absence, Judge joined the celebration with his teammates after their series win.
Speaking to the press, Judge expressed admiration for the New York Knicks, the NBA champions. He stated, We’re definitely inspired by the Knicks. We gotta keep the winning going in New York.
The Yankees’ inspiration from the Knicks is understandable, given the Knicks’ recent championship win in June. The Yankees now aim to emulate their success by pursuing their first World Series title since 2009. Their dominance over the Red Sox suggests they are strong contenders this season.
Next, the Yankees face a challenging matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS. The Rays hold a formidable record of 98-64, finishing first in the AL East. Despite this challenge, fans are eager to see if Judge and his team can secure another championship for New York.
