Donald Trump Plans Medical and Dental Check-Up at Walter Reed

President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for medical and dental examinations on Tuesday, a White House official disclosed. This marks his third in-person medical visit over the span of little more than a year. Trump previously visited the facility twice in 2025, once in April and another time in October. Additionally, Trump made trips to his dentist in West Palm Beach earlier this year, first in January and then for a follow-up in recent weeks.

At nearly 80 years old, Trump is the most senior individual to have assumed the presidency. Despite persistent health rumors, he frequently declares his fitness is excellent. Health and energy were pivotal in his re-election campaign. He often derided his opponent as “Sleepy Joe Biden.” However, questions linger, driven by instances where he appeared lethargic and due to noticeable bruises on his hand, attributed to frequent handshakes and his use of aspirin as a medication for blood thinning. Last year’s examination uncovered chronic venous insufficiency after mild leg swelling was reported.

In a discussion with the Wall Street Journal, Trump described aspirin’s benefits, stating, “aspirin is good for thinning out” his blood, and he prefers avoiding “thick blood pouring through [his] heart.” During his October visit in 2025, which the White House initially classified as a planned follow-up, Trump revealed to reporters that he underwent an MRI; later clarified to be a CT scan of his heart and abdomen.

President Trump agreed to meet with the staff and soldiers at Walter Reed Medical Hospital in October. To maximize the President’s visit, we suggested he undergo another standard physical exam to ensure sustained health,” stated Dr. Sean Barbabella, the President’s physician, in a message to NBC News.

Barbabella mentioned that advanced imaging via MRI or CT scan was proposed to rule out potential cardiovascular concerns. Trump complied, and consultants executed a CT scan, which returned normal, displaying no irregularities. Following Trump’s April 2025 visit, Barbabella confirmed in a statement that the President “maintains excellent health, with robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical functions.”

He added: “President Trump’s schedule comprises numerous meetings, public appearances, media access, and frequent success in golf tournaments.”
