Morgan Wallen is a prominent figure in country music, known for hits such as “865,” “Sand in My Boots,” and “Whisky Glasses.” He was born on May 13, 1993, in Sneedville, Tennessee, to Tommy and Lesli Wallen. Raised in a musical environment, Wallen sang in church and learned both piano and violin in his early years.
Before reaching the height of his fame, Wallen participated in “The Voice” in 2014. At 20 years old, he impressed audiences with his rendition of “Collide” by Howie Day. Although he did not win, his distinct, raspy sound left a mark, paving the way for his subsequent career in music.
In 2020, Wallen experienced both personal and professional challenges. A video of him using a racial slur surfaced in February, drawing significant backlash. Despite this, later in the year, he celebrated the birth of his first child, Indigo Wilder, in Nashville. He shares Indigo with his former girlfriend, KT Smith.
Wallen released his second album, “Dangerous: The Double Album,” in 2021. It features tracks like “More Than My Hometown,” “Sand In My Boots,” and “865.” This album achieved remarkable success, spending 10 weeks atop the Billboard chart, a first since 1987, and became the best-selling album of 2021 with 3 million copies sold. It also won significant accolades, including the Academy of Country Music Award for Album of the Year and Top Country Album at the Billboard Music Awards.
The artist embarked on an extensive tour in 2022 to promote this album, with 46 concerts across the United States over eight months. Wallen also capitalized on his popularity by selling merchandise featuring lyrics from his popular songs.
In 2022, Wallen released the single “Broadway Girls” with Lil Durk. Additionally, he contributed to the Ernest song, “Flower Shops,” further cementing his place in the music scene.
