Representative Marcy Kaptur, a Democrat from Ohio, was involved in a car crash on Sunday morning near Toledo. Her office confirmed the incident in a statement.
Kaptur was en route to a church service when her vehicle was hit. Her office reported that she sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
In the statement, her office expressed, “This morning, Congresswoman Kaptur was a passenger in a vehicle on her way to a church service when the car she was traveling in was struck. She is active, alert, and being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.”
A previously taken image of Representative Kaptur was released, noting her current condition as alert with an expectation of recovery.
The crash is still under investigation by the authorities. Her office stated, “We look forward to additional information from Toledo Police as they investigate the accident.”
