The recent trend of NFL players returning to college teams has left many programs facing uncharted scenarios. Alabama Crimson Tide, led by coach Kalen DeBoer, is among those navigating these challenges. “Athletic director Greg Byrne has communicated with me and the team about what the rules allow,” DeBoer stated on Monday. “There might be a chance for a player who was previously on our roster. However, at this moment, he wouldn’t be able to play,” he explained during an interaction with reporters shared by FOX54 News Huntsville.

A recent court ruling granted these players an additional year of NCAA eligibility, which has since been paused. While some players, like Thomas Castellanos from Florida State, have been granted rulings to transfer to new schools, DeBoer remains tight-lipped about which player from the class might return to Alabama.

Although several players in the 2022 class transferred or didn’t live up to their potential, Jihaad Campbell, Ty Simpson, and Tyler Booker, now with NFL teams, are unlikely candidates for return.
