Amazon recently announced significant grocery discounts for its U.S. workers who shop at Whole Foods, the company’s retail chain. The discounts can reach up to 20 percent, offering substantial savings for employees.
This initiative follows a report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office, which highlighted a sharp increase in the number of Amazon employees relying on food stamps and Medicaid over a span of more than five years. However, Amazon clarified that the decision to offer these discounts stems from employee feedback rather than as a direct response to the government report.
