More than 30 individuals sustained injuries on Wednesday following a collision involving a public bus and a building just outside Baltimore, Maryland. Authorities confirmed one critically injured person was extricated from the scene and hospitalized.

Emergency crews responded promptly after the Maryland Transit Administration bus accident on Reisterstown Road in Pikesville, according to Fox 45 News. Baltimore County officials reported involvement of multiple civilian vehicles, including one that overturned.

Responders rescued one trapped individual from the bus, alongside another from a vehicle, authorities disclosed. A building engineer was dispatched to assess the site, highlighted by the Baltimore County Fire Department.

The consequences of the crash prompted a second mass casualty alarm shortly afterward. Maryland Governor Wes Moore expressed attentiveness to the situation, stating, “Dawn and I are keeping everyone impacted in our hearts and prayers. We are deeply grateful for our first responders who acted with speed and skill to ensure the safety of our neighbors,” which he shared on social media platform X. Moore further assured collaboration with local officials to offer necessary assistance.

The Maryland State Highway Administration announced road closures near the accident site, with advisories for drivers to seek alternative routes amid recovery operations.
