Chris Cenac Jr., standing 6-foot-11 and weighing 240 pounds, appears to fill a vital positional gap. His presence is expected to bolster the Celtics’ frontcourt, which struggled during the playoffs, as noted by Golliver. Although Cenac is seen as between power forward and center positions, his inclusion offers promise. Nonetheless, he requires progression to meet high expectations set during his high school career.
Boston Celtics’ approach in the draft showcases an astute recognition of potential, despite limitations in player availability. Cenac’s underappreciated capabilities were seized upon by the Celtics. During his tenure at the University of Houston, he achieved a 33.3% 3-point shot success rate. This range is commendable for a freshman competing in Houston’s challenging basketball environment.
