Law enforcement confirmed a break-in at Kim Kardashian’s Hidden Hills mansion on Sunday when a vehicle was stolen from the property. Officers from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a residential burglary on the 24800 block of Long Valley Road. The incident occurred before 4 p.m.
The mansion, which is currently under renovation, is not the residence of Kardashian, 45, and her four children. The Los Angeles Times reported that Trey Mendel, the suspect, was seen placing items into a vehicle at the scene. Authorities arrested him for burglary and for taking a vehicle without permission.
A sheriff’s department statement read, “Upon arrival, deputies located a white male adult—Trey Mendel—and placed him under arrest for burglary and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.” The suspect was booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station. He remains in custody.
The case will be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for further action. The stolen vehicle, confirmed not to belong to Kardashian, was recovered.
Authorities urged anyone with information to contact the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station Detective Bureau. Kardashian was not in the home at the time of the break-in.
In 2014, Kardashian and her former husband Kanye West acquired the Hidden Hills mansion for approximately $20 million. Following their divorce, finalized in November 2022, Kardashian obtained full ownership of the property for $23 million, where she resides with their children North, Chicago, Saint, and Psalm.
