Bret Michaels, the 63-year-old musician, shared an update regarding his health following a kidney stone surgery. He posted on Facebook on Wednesday, July 22, explaining his recovery process after the procedure to remove a kidney stone that wouldn’t pass on its own.
Expressing appreciation for the healthcare professionals who assisted him, Michaels explained the ordeal: “On this #WisdomWednesday, I realized the importance of gratitude for the frontline workers, doctors, and nurses who took care of me as the kidney stone, which I waited almost seven days to pass, wouldn’t budge.” Despite the intense pain, he managed to perform in Charleston, WV, Grantville, PA, and a private show at Fairchild AFB in Spokane for veterans and military families.
The morning after his third concert, the pain became too much, prompting Michaels to check into a hospital. He updated followers, stating, “The operation is complete, and I’m out of post-op recovery. I aim to be back on my feet soon.” He emphasized the significance of family, friends, fans, doctors, and nurses in maintaining health.
A photo shared on Facebook showed the “Talk Dirty to Me” singer in a hospital bed, dressed in black attire and a baseball cap, with monitors nearby. Humorously, he added, “They eventually forced me into a hospital gown, lol, as I came straight from the show to the hospital.”
Fans showed their support in the comments section, wishing Michaels a swift recovery. One wrote, “Can’t keep a good man down, brother. Keep on keeping on,” and another said, “Glad you’re doing better, brother. Sending prayers and love.” He first mentioned the pain from the kidney stone on Instagram after his Spokane show, stating, “The kidney stone was kicking my butt at the end of the show, but we weren’t gonna stop til we had nothing but a good time!”
Michaels recently received attention for supporting his 26-year-old daughter, Raine, in her decision to sell foot photos on FeetFinder. During a “Calabasas Confidential” episode, he called the idea “brilliant,” supporting her choice. He and his longtime partner, Kristi Lynn Gibson, also have a 21-year-old daughter named Jorja.
