On Tuesday, Canada revealed plans to impose tariffs of up to 50 percent on numerous American products. This move comes in response to new tariffs from the U.S. following the breakdown of trade discussions.
Starting on September 8, Canada will increase tariffs on U.S. steel and aluminum. The rates will go from 25 percent to 50 percent, affecting a wide range of goods imported from the United States.
These developments follow the collapse of recent trade negotiations between Canada and the U.S., which triggered the initial round of U.S. tariffs aimed at Canadian goods.
