Country music sensation Ashley Cooke recently opened up about her battle with a dangerous heart condition, Brugada syndrome, in an interview with Fox News Digital. As she prepares for her Baby Blues World Tour, the 29-year-old artist shared her thoughts on this rare and life-threatening disorder.
Cooke explained that Brugada syndrome is a genetic heart condition that causes irregular heart rhythms, leading to an increased risk of sudden cardiac arrest. She described discovering her diagnosis as “scary” because the syndrome does not present any symptoms.
“You just have to go get tested for it and hope for the best,” Cooke remarked. “Young, healthy people can unexpectedly fall victim to this condition.”
Cooke also spoke about feeling a constant cloud of fear due to the unpredictable nature of the syndrome. Despite this, she tries to focus on living her life to the fullest.
Her cousin, who also has the condition, advised her, saying, “If you believe in God, which I do, your time is going to be your time no matter what. So whether it’s this or something else, just live your life and treat people well.”
Cooke has found solace in this perspective, saying her condition has given her “even more of a purpose just to live my life every day.” She acknowledges the uncertainty of life and strives to do her best.
Ashley Cooke’s musical journey took off with popular tracks like “Never Til Now,” a duet with Brett Young, and “Your Place.” Her upcoming Baby Blues World Tour will span 28 international dates, supporting her new self-titled album, which will be released on August 14.
Cooke expressed excitement about the tour, calling it the “best season” of her life. “Every city will feel huge, different, and like a level up from where we’ve been before,” she said. “I am proud of the music on this album and can’t wait for everyone to hear it and sing along.”
Ashley Cooke looks forward eagerly to this latest phase of her career, confident it will be her best tour yet.
