The Education Department has recently updated its list of graduate degree programs eligible for higher student loan limits. Previously, only 11 programs were included; now the list has expanded to 29.
This change comes after a federal court temporarily halted the agency’s specific definition of a “professional” degree. This allows more students pursuing advanced education to access increased financial support for their studies.
A file photo from May 30, 2019, captures graduates from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government celebrating their commencement in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This photo highlights the significance of such educational milestones.
The decision to broaden the eligible programs aims to support more graduate students financially, addressing the growing demand for higher education in various disciplines.
