FBI and Texas Authorities Arrest Over 276 in Child Exploitation Crackdown

The FBI, in collaboration with Texas authorities, conducted a joint operation that resulted in more than 276 arrests related to child exploitation. They also rescued 89 children. This action is part of Operation Soteria Shield, contributing to the national effort named Operation Iron Pursuit.

This operation targeted those involved in online sexual exploitation, abuse, trafficking, and the production and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in North Texas. The focus was on offenders using online platforms, social media, messaging applications, and other digital tools to exploit children.

“Every single day this FBI is moving more aggressively than ever before to destroy child predator networks and save innocent victims all over the country,”

said FBI Director Kash Patel, emphasizing the success of the operation and the continuous efforts in this mission.

Operation Soteria Shield, which took place in March and April, involved 91 law enforcement agencies across Texas. Dallas Police Department Chief Daniel Comeaux highlighted the critical importance of protecting children from exploitation.

According to Patel, “These are young lives saved, families reunited, and future crimes prevented by brave law enforcement doing their jobs.” Since last year, the FBI has located over 6,940 child victims (an increase of 144%) and arrested nearly 3,000 child predators (up 70%).

Earlier this month, the FBI revealed that over 350 child sexual abuse offenders were arrested as part of Operation Iron Pursuit. This initiative, conducted in April, aims to find child victims of sexual abuse and apprehend child sex predators nationwide.
