Dear Eric,
My daughter, who is 30, has been in a committed relationship with her 31-year-old boyfriend for over six years. They decided to rent an apartment together. However, she encountered challenges in securing employment in the city where they resided. Due to these difficulties, she returned to live with me at home.
Despite living with me for the last 18 months, she has continued to contribute to her boyfriend’s living expenses by paying half of the rent for their shared apartment. This arrangement has become a source of concern as she is unable to assist with household bills here.
