Fox News Celebrates 30th Anniversary at Nasdaq

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott rang the Closing Bell at Nasdaq MarketSite in New York City, marking Fox News Channel’s 30th anniversary. The network launched on October 7, 1996. Original hosts Lauren Green, Trace Gallagher, Steve Doocy, and Brit Hume joined Scott and other executives in celebration.

Scott expressed her pride, stating the milestone honors the network’s history and its commitment to balanced reporting. She acknowledged the original vision of Rupert Murdoch, who aimed to diversify the national media landscape. Under the leadership of Fox Corp Executive Chair and CEO Lachlan Murdoch, Fox News has expanded to a multi-platform powerhouse, reaching over 200 million people monthly.

“Milestones like this recognize the dedication of our journalists, producers, technicians, correspondents, executives, and colleagues,” Scott said, emphasizing the role of viewers in Fox News’ success.

Scott joined Fox News in its founding year, 1996, and became CEO in 2018. She has led the network to dominate cable ratings. She initiated expansions across platforms, such as FOX News Books, digital refreshes, and new streaming options like FOX Nation, FOX News International, and FOX Weather.

The ceremony concluded with Scott and colleagues officially ending market transactions for the day. Fox News-themed confetti filled the air. Nasdaq Executive VP Jeff Thomas lauded Fox News Media as a major media brand. He presented Scott with a Closing Bell crystal.
