Fraud Task Force Meeting
Vice President JD Vance will be hosting members of Congress at the White House to discuss legislative actions against fraud. The meeting will include approximately 20 members from both the House and Senate. The focus will be on targeting fraud at state and district levels.
Previous meetings have taken place at the White House with attorneys general and other administration members involved in the anti-fraud task force led by Vance.

Legal Actions Against Fraud
The Justice Department has expanded its Northeast Health Care Fraud Strike Force to Philadelphia as part of efforts to tackle Medicare and Medicaid fraud. In recent actions, federal and state law enforcement charged 19 defendants involved in over $4 million in fraudulent claims.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday also announced a plea agreement related to a former 21-defendant case with over $1.7 million in claims.
The vice president’s task force continues to stop the flow of taxpayer funds before they fall into the hands of fraudsters and deliver savings to the American people.

Suspending Fraudulent Payments
The task force has halted payments to several healthcare providers suspected of fraud. As of May, over $1.4 billion in federal funding was withheld from home health and hospice providers across the nation.
In June, a dramatic increase in Medicare claims for skin substitutes was reported. Claims surged from $200 million to $14.4 billion between 2019 and 2025. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services identified 4,200 suspicious claims totaling $224 million.

The task force, initiated through an executive order by President Donald Trump, continues to work across different agencies to address the fraud issue effectively.
