Former President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden made a surprise appearance in a video to honor Barstool Sports personality “Jersey Jerry”. They presented him with the “Lib of the Year” award, a title he has won for three consecutive years during the “Pardon My Take” Takie Awards.
Jerry was visibly shocked when the video showed Hunter Biden, who then transitioned to the former president. “What the f—? I was not expecting that,” Jerry exclaimed. Hunter began the video by mentioning their shared journey of recovery, before congratulating Jerry on his third victory.

In the video, Hunter said, “Hey, Jerry, from one brother in recovery to another, congratulations on the Lib of the Year award. I know you didn’t have much competition, but I’m still proud of you,” before Joe Biden joined his son. “We were both proud of you. Hey, Jerry, congratulations. Keep the faith, Jerry. Congratulations, dude,” Joe Biden added.
Jerry found it challenging to believe the event, as the hosts reaffirmed the involvement of a former president in the parody award presentation.

The video was replayed at Jerry’s request, with him jokingly thanking Joe Biden using one of Donald Trump’s nicknames for the president: “All right, Sleepy Joe. Thank you, brother.”
“Pardon My Take” co-host Dan “Big Cat” Katz put the event in historical context, saying, “Forty-five men have served in 47 presidencies. You have one of 45 men who served as president of the United States of America giving you a Takey for Lib of the Year. Just let that set in for a second. That’s history.” Jerry concurred, recognizing the significance of the acknowledgment, stating, “The president knows who I am.”
The incident elicited reactions on social media. Barstool founder Dave Portnoy expressed shock, commenting, “I gasped.”

In addition to the Bidens, other figures reacted in surprise: Barstool’s “Jack Mac” noted he was caught off guard by Biden’s appearance. Former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz praised the fun nature of the presentation, adding, “This is great. Did not expect the end of the video.”
The Takie Awards featured more than 28 categories, including “Take of the Year” and “Blake of the Year”. The awards have become an annual tradition for “Pardon My Take”.
The segment follows a 2025 presentation where former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg gave Jerry his second title, encouraging his achievements in evolving views on topics like immigration and vaccines.
