Justin Tucker was among three kickers who worked out for the New York Jets on Wednesday. Alongside him were Michael Badgley and Joshua Karty. Tucker, often considered the greatest kicker in NFL history, has been off the field since the 2024 season. Last year, Tucker remained unsigned after serving a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
In January 2025, reports surfaced on allegations from 16 female massage therapists accusing Justin Tucker of sexual misconduct between 2012 and 2016 at various Baltimore spas. The Baltimore Ravens released him in May of that year, ending his 13 seasons with the team.
Tucker has vigorously contested these accusations. Neither criminal charges nor civil suits have been filed against him. He, his wife Amanda, and his legal team spoke to OutKick to address the allegations. His attorneys, led by Joe Terry, provided evidence they claim questions the credibility of the accusations. They referenced an email from an accuser expressing pleasure working with Tucker when he ended his spa membership in 2016. However, this does not confirm Tucker’s innocence.
The situation drew comparisons to Deshaun Watson’s case, where allegations also involved multiple massage therapists. Watson faced more than two dozen accusations, resulting in 23 civil lawsuit settlements and an 11-game suspension in 2022. Despite this, Watson secured a fully guaranteed deal with the Cleveland Browns worth $230 million. However, he has since failed to return to previous performance levels.
Conversely, the Ravens chose to release Tucker following the allegations. Now at 37, and off the back of a challenging 2024 season with a 73.3% field-goal success rate, his future in the NFL is uncertain. Tucker remains better than several league kickers yet hasn’t secured a team due to both performance and off-field issues.
Despite workouts with the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts, no contract offers followed. NFL teams balance an athlete’s off-field concerns with on-field potential. Currently, Tucker’s situation deters teams despite his talent.
