Key Players to Miss Thunder’s Game 7 Against Spurs

The Oklahoma City Thunder will face a challenging Game 7 without Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell against the San Antonio Spurs due to injuries.

Injury Updates

Jalen Williams will miss the matchup because of a strained left hamstring, a problem that has affected him throughout this playoff series. The issue had already sidelined Williams for most of the playoffs, as he missed 10 playoff games due to this new hamstring injury. During the regular season, Williams also struggled with wrist and hamstring injuries, causing him to miss 49 out of 82 games. In the current series, Williams played sparingly, including a brief 10-minute appearance in Game 6.

Ajay Mitchell, who initially filled the roster gap left by Williams, is also out with a strained right soleus. As a result, Jared McCain has taken Mitchell’s place in the starting lineup, joining Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Isaiah Hartenstein, Lu Dort, and Chet Holmgren.

Spurs and Game Details

In contrast, the San Antonio Spurs have no reported injuries leading into Game 7. The absence of these players puts added pressure on the remaining Thunder lineup.

Officiating Team

The NBA appointed Marc Davis, John Goble, and Josh Tiven as referees for this decisive Game 7. Both Davis and Tiven are officiating their second Game 7 in the ongoing playoffs. Davis previously worked the Cleveland-Detroit series finale in Round 2, while Tiven officiated the Orlando-Detroit Game 7 in Round 1.
