U.S. Admiral Visits Aircraft Carrier
Admiral Brad Cooper, the top U.S. military commander in the Middle East, recently completed a 10-day tour of the region. His visit included inspecting the USS Lincoln in the Arabian Sea, a key support in the U.S. campaign against Iran.
The USS Lincoln has been deployed since January, engaging in a blockade of Iranian ports. It marks a prolonged deployment with over 240 days at sea, raising concerns about the well-being of its crew and vessel maintenance.
Cooper also met with leaders in Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
Israeli Attacks in Southern Lebanon
Israel targeted two Hezbollah commanders in southern Lebanon, resulting in at least 11 casualties. These strikes violated the ceasefire agreement established in June.
Israeli forces identified the deceased as Abu Hassan Alaa and Ali Samir Al-Haj Hassan, both described as senior commanders. While family members of one commander were present, they were not the intended targets.
Hamas Delegation in Cairo for Gaza Ceasefire Talks
A Hamas delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya engaged in discussions in Cairo concerning a Gaza ceasefire. Talks focus on implementing a U.S. peace plan involving disarmament of Hamas and Israeli troop withdrawal from Gaza.
Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, expressed objections to the plan, while Hamas disagrees with disarmament requirements.
Iranian Pilots Allegedly Detained in Qatar
The Iranian military claims that Qatar is detaining three of its pilots who went missing in March after their aircraft were downed. Qatar denies these allegations.
Iran requests to investigate the site, while Qatar states that its search teams only found the remains of one pilot. This marks the first known incident where Iran accuses a regional country of holding its military personnel.
