The NYPD has identified 31-year-old Jesus Acosta as a suspect in two separate deadly shootings in New York City. Police are seeking public assistance in locating him.

One incident occurred at 149 Grill & Deli, located at 143 East 149th Street in the Bronx. It took place around 12:16 a.m. on a Tuesday. A gunman approached a 33-year-old man and shot him multiple times in the chest. The suspect then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing. The victim was transported to Lincoln Hospital, initially in a stable condition, but later died from his injuries. Authorities have classified the case as a homicide.
The NYPD also connects Acosta with a shooting that happened earlier in Brooklyn. This incident unfolded inside 842 Rockaway Ave shortly after midnight on a Sunday. In this case, a 44-year-old man was shot in the head, resulting in his death, while a 39-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. Both victims were taken to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. The 39-year-old was reported to be in stable condition.

The NYPD has circulated surveillance images of Jesus Acosta to gather public assistance in finding him. He is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. Notable tattoos include the word “Bronx” on his hand and “Bobby” on his left forearm.
A police statement requested, “Have you seen Jesus Acosta? He is wanted for the fatal shooting of a 44-year-old man on 8/23 in Brooklyn and a robbery on 8/25 in the Bronx.”
