Police officers Stephen Hall and Brian Josephine gave their accounts of responding to the call in Duxbury, south of Boston. When they arrived, Patrick was shouting for help. Only baby Callan showed any signs of life, with a faint pulse, but efforts to save him with the help of firefighters and paramedics, including PJ Hussey, were in vain.
If Lindsay Clancy is found guilty of murder, she faces life imprisonment without parole. A verdict of not guilty due to a lack of criminal responsibility would lead to her commitment to a state mental health facility.
