The Dodgers rely on the confidence and skill of the four-time champion. Betts needs to be the strong right-handed hitter who balances a lineup filled with left-handed talent. His performance helps fill the gap left by Will Smith and compensates for Kyle Tucker’s inconsistency at home games.
Betts should maintain his “hope meter,” as Dodgers manager Dave Roberts emphasized. Before beginning a series with the Milwaukee Brewers, Roberts stated, “The guy standing 60 feet, 6 inches from him understands the baseball card, knows who’s in the box. And it’s important that [Betts] can’t forget that, regardless of what the scoreboard might say.”

His 38.8% HardHit% shows a rise from last season, while his exit velocity is higher by one and a half miles per hour.
Earlier this month, Betts explained his frustrations: “I’m gonna have to help the team at some point,” he noted on Aug. 4, reflecting on hitting difficulties. Efforts to maintain optimism have been challenging.
Roberts continues to remind Betts of his capabilities. Betts is known for being a former MVP, an eight-time All-Star, a seven-time Silver Slugger, and a past batting champion. He stands out not just as a baseball player, but also as a scratch-level bowler and for shifting positions from right field to shortstop in his 11th year.
Recently, Betts displayed his potential, hitting .387 with a .645 slugging percentage over a nine-game stretch. Roberts appreciates Betts’ demeanor and presence, noting his consistent discipline at the plate.
