Researchers have unveiled video footage that supports existing theories about solar surface activity. This video represents the most detailed view of the sun’s surface to date, recorded at a wavelength of 416 nanometers.
The footage highlights unprecedented details, presenting vortex-like structures swirling on the surface of the sun. These structures are now visible with remarkable precision, comparable to the ability to detect a blueberry from a distance of 70 miles.
This breakthrough was made possible through collaboration between the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Solar Observatory (NSO), the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA), and the Max Planck Society (MPS).
