Olivia Miles: Rising Star of the Minnesota Lynx

Minnesota Lynx rookie Olivia Miles, also known as “The Spectacle,” has garnered significant attention. Dawn Staley, a legendary head coach at South Carolina, suggests Miles should be recognized as “The Logo” of the WNBA, akin to the late Jerry West in the NBA.

Earlier, Staley shared her admiration for Miles on X, saying, “@oliviamiles06 got me in my house cursing on a Sunday. Lord have mercy!” During the Lynx’s victory over the Indiana Fever, Staley called for a change in the WNBA logo to feature Miles. Accompanying her post was a fan-created mock-up of Miles as the new logo.

Staley’s praise is not just casual; her Hall-of-Fame career gives her words weight. Miles has consistently delivered outstanding performances since the Lynx picked her second overall in the 2026 WNBA Draft.

Against the Fever, Miles stood out with 28 points, shooting 11-for-14 from the field. She also contributed six assists and four rebounds. These statistics reflect the performance she has maintained since joining the team.

While Miles might not become “The Logo,” she is a top contender for both the WNBA Rookie of the Year and MVP awards. The Lynx, boasting a 10-game winning streak and a 25-6 record, currently lead the league.

As the leading scorer, averaging 19.4 points per game, and top in assists with 5.8 per game, Miles continues to improve. She has integrated well with veteran guards Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride, and now benefits from the return of All-Star forward Napheesa Collier.

The Las Vegas Aces, having won three of the last four WNBA titles, remain formidable. However, with Miles’ leadership, the Lynx are poised to break their eight-year championship dry spell this season.
