The Philadelphia Eagles are bracing for a challenging NFC game against the Los Angeles Rams, missing some key players. On Friday, the team confirmed that six players will not participate in Week 4 due to injuries.
Among those ruled out are DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, Hollywood Brown, Fred Johnson, Zach Baun, and Marcus Epps. Smith, out with a hamstring injury, missed Friday’s practice and has not played since the 2024 season despite appearing on last week’s injury report. In the previous game against the Chicago Bears, Smith caught six passes for 65 yards, even while nursing the same injury.
Smith has become crucial in Philadelphia’s passing attack following A.J. Brown’s departure. He leads the team with 19 catches and 235 receiving yards. Goedert, with 81 receiving yards and multiple touchdowns this season, is also sidelined. He missed Monday’s game against the Bears after exiting a Week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans.
Brown remains out of action, unable to capitalize on the opportunities created by these injuries. At 29, he hasn’t yet recorded a catch this season. With Brown absent, the Eagles could see increased contributions from players like Dontayvion Wicks and rookie Malaki Lemon, who has started his NFL journey with a modest 33 yards across three games.
On defense, the Eagles face the Rams without starters Baun and Epps. Baun, battling a concussion, has accumulated 25 tackles and a team-leading three passes defended through Pro Bowl-level performance. Epps will miss the game due to a groin injury, having participated in 61% of the team’s defensive snaps this season. Michael Carter II or Kenny Moore II may take on the starting safety role in Epps’ absence.
The Rams are also contending with injuries. Star player Aaron Donald will not participate in the matchup due to a back issue. The game commences at 1 p.m. ET.
