Prince Harry’s Upcoming Visit to the U.K. Sans Family

Prince Harry will travel to London next week without his wife, Meghan, and their children, Archie and Lilibet. A source close to the prince shared this update, noting the trip’s objective is to mark the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games 2027, organized by the prince for wounded veterans. The games are scheduled for July 10 to 17, 2027.

While the original plan involved a family visit, recent arrangements have changed. The source indicated that although Harry’s family might still travel to the U.K., they plan to remain outside of London. Harry, 41, aims to engage with other charities during his multiday visit.

The Sun reported that Meghan had intended to join Harry in visiting a London hospital. Instead, Harry will attend solo, reportedly due to security concerns. Last month, the prince’s source mentioned that the family would stay at royal residences during any visits. The BBC also reported that they would be guests of King Charles III.

Harry’s concerns about family safety in the U.K. heightened after his failed legal attempt to regain full police protection. He had previously stated, “It’s impossible for me to take my family back to the U.K. safely.” Security arrangements for this visit remain unclear, with Buckingham Palace reportedly not offering extra security.

Harry and Meghan moved to North America in 2020, stepping back from royal roles amidst family tensions, including those exacerbated by Harry’s memoir “Spare.” Despite past conflicts, Harry expressed a desire to reconcile with his father. However, it remains uncertain if the two will meet this time.

Harry last met briefly with King Charles in September 2025 amidst the king’s cancer treatment at Clarence House, London.
