In a recent podcast appearance on “Armchair Expert,” Scott Eastwood, 40, shared a story about a moment involving his father, Clint Eastwood, and actor Kevin Costner on a movie set. The younger Eastwood emphasized the high level of respect his father commands on set, noting that Clint Eastwood never raises his voice.
Scott recounted an incident from the filming of “A Perfect World,” a film Clint Eastwood directed and starred in. During production, Costner, who played an escaped convict in the film, did not leave his trailer when requested. Despite Costner being scheduled for a scene that day, Clint’s simple response was, “Well send him home then.” Consequently, Costner was sent home but returned to the set ready to work the following day.
Scott Eastwood recalled, “I guess they just went to Kevin and said, ‘Hey, you’re going to go home for the day.'”
Scott Eastwood also spoke about the influence of his father’s reputation on his own work ethic. Growing up on set, he witnessed behaviors that he described as “shocking.” However, he stated that his father shielded him and his siblings from the negative aspects of celebrity life.
“We didn’t live in LA, we lived in Carmel,” Scott explained, highlighting his father’s intention to provide a normal upbringing. “It was as normal as it could be.” This approach was intended to prevent the early onset of fame from affecting their personal development.
