Senator Chris Murphy, a Democrat from Connecticut and potential 2028 presidential candidate, was hospitalized following a stroke. His office reported that he is ‘awake and alert’.
Murphy, age 53, felt numbness in his arm during his son’s hockey game on October 31. He was subsequently taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed he had suffered a stroke.
Sen. Murphy is seen in an August photograph taken as he made a call outside of the U.S. Capitol.
