Sol Ruca Becomes Women’s Intercontinental Champion at Clash in Italy

Sol Ruca achieved tremendous success by winning the women’s intercontinental championship at Clash in Italy. She defeated Becky Lynch in a thrilling match on Sunday.

This victory was a follow-up to their encounter at Saturday Night’s Main Event. During that event, Lynch pushed referee Jessica Carr in front of her to avoid a Sol Snatcher from Ruca. As a result, Carr disqualified Lynch, awarding Ruca the win. However, the outcome left both wrestlers unsatisfied; Ruca felt she needed to prove herself against Lynch, while Lynch wanted to advance beyond her rising competitor.

Following the initial match, SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis arranged a rematch with the championship at stake. Ruca met the challenge head-on and delivered an outstanding performance.

Lynch attempted to disrupt Ruca’s focus throughout the match. She resorted to trash talking, using Carr to knock Ruca into the ropes, and even tried executing the Sol Snatcher herself. Despite these tactics, Ruca remained unshaken.

The match concluded with Ruca unexpectedly executing a Sol Snatcher to defeat Lynch and end her tenure as champion. This win marked Ruca’s first major victory since joining the main roster. She previously defeated Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December, an event where John Cena selected her to compete. Her success in NXT has now translated into a significant impact on the WWE stage.
